Flashcards that make themselves.

Snap a page of notes, a textbook page or a PDF. Rotebird reads it on your iPhone and suggests cards; you keep the good ones. Then a few minutes a day: each card comes back right before you'd forget it.

From a page to a habit

Snap, scan or paste

Scan pages with the camera, pick photos, open a PDF or paste text. Text recognition runs on your iPhone.

You check every card

Apple's on-device model suggests question-and-answer cards. Edit them, untick the ones you don't want. Nothing is saved until you say so.

Back before you forget

FSRS, a modern open spaced-repetition algorithm, decides when each card returns. Four buttons, each showing its next interval.

Fill the gap

Select a word in a sentence and make a gap. Every gap becomes its own card.

Bring your decks

Import .apkg deck packages and CSV files with Rotebird Plus. Text, gaps and review intervals come along.

Widgets and streaks

Today's count and your streak on the Home Screen and Lock Screen (Plus), and a clear "all caught up".

A review card: the answer is shown, with Again, Hard, Good and Easy buttons and their intervals Insights: 90 percent of reviews remembered and reviews per day for 30 days

Private by design

  • No account. Your notes, cards and reviews stay on your iPhone.
  • Card suggestions use Apple's on-device model: your text is never sent anywhere.

Which iPhones suggest cards?

Suggested cards need an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, with it turned on (iOS 26 or later). On other iPhones Rotebird still reads your page and you write the cards by hand next to the text; the app tells you which case you're in.
