Cardamint

Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Cardamint is a recipe box and week planner for iPhone made by Reba Labs ("we"). This policy explains what happens to the information you put into Cardamint. The short version: it stays on your iPhone, and we never receive it.

What Cardamint stores

  • your recipes: title, servings, time, ingredients, steps, notes, the source you typed (a link or a book) and whether it is a favourite;
  • your plan: which recipe is planned on which day, and for how many servings;
  • your grocery lists: items you ticked and items you added by hand.

All of this is stored only on your iPhone, inside Cardamint's own storage.

Screenshots, photos and text you add

When you pick screenshots or photos, photograph a page with the camera, or paste text, Cardamint reads the text with Apple's on-device text recognition. Structuring it into a recipe uses Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence's Foundation Models framework), which runs on your iPhone; without it, rules inside the app do the same job. Your pictures and text are not sent to us or to anyone else. Cardamint does not keep the pictures after you save the recipe. Photos are chosen through the system photo picker, so the app does not get access to your photo library; the camera is used only while you photograph a page, after you allow it.

Links

Cardamint never fetches web pages. A link you add as a recipe's source is stored as text and shown as credit; if you tap Open, it opens in Safari.

What we collect

Nothing. Cardamint has no account, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. Apart from the App Store's own purchase system, the app makes no network requests. We cannot see, access or recover anything you enter. The App Store privacy label for Cardamint is "Data Not Collected".

Purchases

Cardamint Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we receive no payment details. The app asks the App Store whether you have an active purchase so it can unlock Plus.

Backups

Like other app data, Cardamint's data can be included in your iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer) if you have them turned on. Those backups are handled by Apple under your Apple Account settings and Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to them.

Data Apple shares with developers

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics, such as how many people installed the app. These contain no information you entered into Cardamint. When you test a beta through TestFlight, any feedback or screenshots you send through TestFlight reach us.

Children

Cardamint does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Delete a recipe from its menu (… > Delete). Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. If you have any question about privacy, write to privacy@reba-labs.com.

Changes

If Cardamint ever starts handling data differently, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date above.
